Drawing and Design is a first level course in visual art at CPS. This class is designed for both the students with or without formal art training and will focus on the understanding and creative utilization of basic drawing principles and design elements such as color theory and composition. Topics covered include: line, volume, perspective, and shape. There will be an introduction to Photoshop, a computer art program. A variety of materials in drawing and painting will be explored. During the semester students will learn skills and techniques that will be applied to class projects and homework. Students will also develop an artistic vocabulary and are encouraged to use it in class discussions and critiques.
